Indication of the
LEDs
The device does not enable
PWR  Green
the outputs even though the
OUT  Yellow
motor is fully at a standstill.
ERR  Red
with code 2 or 3
An error message is
PWR  Red
displayed while the motor is
OUT  Off
running.
The flashing of the ERR LED with error code 2 or 3 while the motor is running is normal on
operation with DC motors. If a jumper is fitted to terminals S2/X1 (error storage inactive),
then the error message will be automatically reset and the outputs enabled on motor
standstill (see section 8.3.5 "Error storage and deletion" on page 69). This statement also
applies on the usage of electronic motor controllers if these, e.g., generate a DC voltage
during the braking phase.

Rectification of the error
Wire break between the measurement inputs L1 and L2
or L1 and L3 or DC offset between L1/L2 and L1/L3
➢ Check the wiring from measurement inputs
L1/L2/L3 to the motor windings for an open circuit.
Also pay attention to the notes in section 3.8
"Motors with switched windings" on page 56.
Once errors due to open circuits on the measurement
channels have been excluded, then the error may be
caused by a DC offset > U
. This problem may be due to
an
incompletely shut down electronic controllers such as
frequency inverters or brake modules that are still
supplying a DC element to the measurement circuit
(possibly check with a voltmeter).
➢ Increase the voltage threshold U
extinguish).
Or:
➢ Shut down the electronic motor controller such that
the motor standstill is detected correctly.
See also section 8.3.2 "Wire break/offset" on page 68.
An internal device error has occurred.
➢ Disconnect the supply voltage to the MOC3ZA for at
least 3 seconds.
➢ Replace the device if the problem persists.
