11. The capped valve is lowered into the back of the throat
and allowed to glide down the esophagus.
12. Confirm the passage of the valve into the esophagus. It
can get caught in the mouth between the teeth and the
tongue -if so a finger sweep should release it. The white
cap and white catheter is pushed down below the GE
junction. Remove the endoscope.
Device Removal Instructions:
1. An extension tube with 3 way stopcock is provided in
the "Spatz Adjustable Balloon System® Adjustment/
Extraction Kit, " Cat. No. A-SP3-015, or can be self supplied.
Or a needle catheter for balloon puncture can be used.
2. Perform endoscopy, at which time the balloon can be
deflated by needle puncture or utilizing the inflation tube
(steps 3 to 8 in the adjustment section above, and disconnect
extension tube before balloon extraction) or both.
3. DEFLATION USING THE INFLATION TUBE REQUIRES
ENDOSCOPIC OBSERVATION. (avoid tube
kinking)
4. Allow the balloon to completely empty of all the fluid.
5. A grasping forceps or snare may be used to extract the
balloon.
6. Pull the balloon up against the tip of the endoscope, and
remove the endoscope. Hyperextension of the neck of
the patient can help with removal as the device passes
through the upper esophageal sphincter.

is in lieu of and excludes all other warranties not expressly set

Spatz3 Adjustable Balloon System®,

Spatz3 Adjustable Balloon System® se ha diseñado para
ayudar a perder peso al llenar parcialmente el estómago y
producir la sensación de saciedad.
Spatz3 Adjustable Balloon System® se coloca en el estómago
y se llena de solución salina, lo que provoca que se expanda y
adopte una forma esférica. El balón lleno se ha diseñado para
rellenar espacio y moverse libremente dentro del estómago.
El diseño exclusivo del tubo de inflado de Spatz3 Adjustable
Balloon System® permite ajustar el volumen del balón al
colocarlo y también posteriormente. El volumen del balón
puede variar entre 400 y 700 ml. (Consulte la información que
aparece a continuación.)
Spatz3 Adjustable Balloon System® consiste en un balón
conectado a un catéter curvado que contiene un tubo de
inflado extensible que está conectado a un tubo de extensión
sale. El tubo de inflado extensible sale del catéter por detrás del

Indicaciones de uso
Spatz3 Adjustable Balloon System® es adecuado para su uso

o mantener una pérdida de peso mediante un programa

El período máximo de colocación de Spatz3 Adjustable
Balloon System® es 12 meses, y deberá extraerse una vez
transcurrido ese plazo, o antes.
PRECAUCIÓN: No se recomiendan volúmenes de inflado
superiores a 700 ml
Cada médico y paciente deben evaluar los riesgos asociados
a la endoscopia y a los balones intragástricos (consulte las
Advertencias, Precauciones y Complicaciones que aparecen
más adelante), así como los posibles beneficios de un
tratamiento temporal para perder peso antes de usar Spatz3
Adjustable Balloon System®.
Spatz3 Adjustable Balloon System®
está indicado en los casos siguientes:
•
Uso temporal pre-quirúrgico para perder peso en pacientes
con obesidad mórbida (IMC 40 y superior, o un IMC 35 con co-
morbilidades) antes de una intervención quirúrgica bariátrica o
de otro tipo, para reducir el riesgo quirúrgico.
•
Uso temporal para perder peso en pacientes con sobrepeso
y obesidad (IMC > 27) que no hayan conseguido lograr y
mantener una pérdida de peso con un programa supervisado
de control de peso.
