8.7.4 Determining the fitting K factor using
a Teach-in procedure
The device determines the flow rate in the pipe using the fitting K
factor.
The "TEACH V." or "TEACH F." parameter allows the device to
determine the K factor of the fitting with a Teach-In procedure; The K
factor may also be directly entered: see chap. 8.7.3.
The Teach-in can be done either depending on a known volume
("TEACH V.", see Fig. 17) or depending on the flow rate in the pipe,
which has been measured with a reference instrument ("TEACH F."
Fig. 18).
