INITIAL CONDITIONS AND CHECKS

Suitability of the devices
Before starting installation:
• Ensure that all the devices necessary to guarantee
the safety and operation of the facility are in place.
• Check that all devices to be installed are suitable for
the facility. Pay particular attention to the use limits,
checking the "Technical Characteristics" of all
devices installed. Use only suitable devices.
• Do not modify any part of the automatic device
unless envisaged in this manual. The manufacturer
will not be liable for any damage caused by products
which have been arbitrarily modified.
• Do not allow the devices to be submerged in water
or other liquids. In the event of ingress of water,
disconnect the power supply and contact the
Technical Service.
• Do not place the devices near heat sources or
exposed to flames.
Risk analysis
• Analyse all possible risks in the installation, taking
into account the essential safety requirements set
out in the Machinery Directive and in applicable
standards, and indicate the solutions chosen.
• Establish the tests to be carried out in accordance
with the risks present, and check that all envisaged
laws, standards and regulations, in particular the
requirements of Standard EN 12445, which
establishes the test methods, are complied with.
Risk analysis is one of the documents which form part
of the automation technical file which must be filled out
by a professional installer.
Suitability of the door or gate
• Make sure that the door structure is strong enough
for motorisation and complies with all applicable
local regulations.
• Check that the available space will allow easy, safe
unlocking.
• Check that the installation surfaces for the
components are firm and can withstand the
stresses.
• Check that the devices to be installed will be in a
correct, safe position and protected from accidental
impacts.

Installation guide
Manual door operation
The door must be easy to handle manually, namely:
• It must be balanced, in order to ensure the effort
made by the motor is minimum.
• There should be no stiffness throughout its open/
close.
Do not install the operator in a door which
does not work correctly in manual operation,
as this may lead to accidents. Repair the door
before installing.
Electrical power supply installation
The operator has a power cable with a plug. There
should be an earthed current connection close by.
Ensure that the direct current connection and
installation meet the following requirements:
• The rated voltage of the installation must
match that of the operator.
• The installation must be able to withstand
the power consumed by all the automatic
key devices.
• The installation must be earthed.
• The electrical installation must comply with
low voltage regulations.
• The installation elements must be properly
secured and in a good state of conservation.
• The power point must be high enough to be
out of the reach of children.
• The installation must have a device that
ensures omnipolar sectioning of the power
source
(for
example,
switch) with contact separation of at least 3
mm in each pole (Standard EN 60335-1).
If the electrical installation does not comply
with the foregoing requirements, repair before
installing the automatic key device.
