2.3.4 Optional cooling unit
No further connections are required if the
CERTOMAT® CTplus is equipped with the integrated
cooling unit. Condensation occurring during cooling
can evaporate in the device and the moist air
discharged via the device ventilation.

Equipment configuration, installing and loading a
tray
Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH provides pre-fitted
trays (with holders for Erlenmeyer flasks of specific
sizes) or trays without accessories. On delivery or after
installing the shaker cabinet the tray can be prepared
to be ready for operation. If the vessel holders and
assembly systems you require are available, you can
insert the shaker container and start the cabinet
shaker as described in section 3.2. If you want to
modify the tray or use another tray, note the
following information.
2.4.1 Equipping a tray
- We recommend fitting the vessel holders and
assembly systems on the tray before placing the
tray in the CERTOMAT® CTplus. They are then easier
to handle. However, you should only place and
secure especially large and heavy shaker containers
on the tray after you have installed it in the
CERTOMAT® CTplus.
- Note the dimensions of the incubation area:
approx. 886 x 476 x 645 mm (W x H x D)
Note the weight of the tray after loading. The shaker
containers impede handling. You can bump them with
the tray, damage the shaker containers, release
undesired media and possibly be injured.
1. When using an empty tray for the first time, you can
attach the requisite holding devices for the shaker
containers. To change an existing fitted tray, first
detach all unnecessary parts.
- If there are brackets for the Erlenmeyer flasks,
different sizes can be combined as required.
Assembly systems such as a reagent flask frame or
universal assembly systems are available for reagent
tubes, beakers or bottles. Detailed instructions on
the available vessel holders and assembly systems
can be found in section 12.2.3.
2. When mounting the holders, make sure that the
shaker containers are evenly distributed and can be
securely attached for subsequent loading of the trays.
