This documentation for the CERTOMAT® CTplus
cabinet incubation shaker describes the device up to
the date when the revision no. was printed. Although
all details have been compiled with the greatest of
care, no liability is assumed.
Sartorius Stedim Biotech GmbH reserves the right to

The CERTOMAT® CTplus is an example from the

With the declarations of conformity provided or
accompanying the device, Sartorius Stedim Biotech
GmbH confirms that the CERTOMAT® CTplus complies
with the stated guidelines.
Authorized use
Cabinet incubation shakers are power-driven
machines (acc. to BGR 500 Chap 2.11 Part 3) in which
liquids or nutrient solutions are shaken with cultures
of biological origin and which are kept at a selected
incubation temperature and, hence, are also only
intended for this purpose. Any other or further use is
considered to be unauthorized. Sartorius Stedim
Biotech GmbH does not accept liability for any
damage resulting from unauthorized use.
Authorized use also includes:
- paying attention to all instructions from the
operating manual and
- adherence to service, cleaning and maintenance
regulations.

General safety instructions
- The laboratory manager or those persons responsible
for using the device must instruct personnel on the
dangers associated with operating the CERTOMAT®
CTplus and ensure adherence to the relevant safety
regulations. Personnel must possess the requisite
qualification for the area of application and for
handling the device.
- The information for operation must be carefully
followed. This prevents any improper handling and
the full extent of any warranty claims is unaffected.

If steps have to be carried out with special care or where
particular considerations must be borne in mind, safety
instructions are indicated as in this section.
Important safety instructions in this manual are
identified with this symbol.
Such instructions apply in addition to the other safety
regulations for the area of application and at the
workplace.
- Devices in the wrong voltage version must not be
placed into operation.
- Non-compliance with the safety instructions can
result in damage to the device, for example, or other
material damage and may lead to personal injury.
Guidelines for this manual
The operating manual is structured according to the
following scheme. This allows you to locate important
information that is important for you according to
your specific information needs.
Chapter 1
provides you with an overview of the assembly and
fittings of the CERTOMAT® CTplus.
Chapter 2
provides information on the requirements regarding
the placement of the device. Installation and
connection as well as equipment configuration,
loading and mounting of trays and universal assembly
systems are also described.
Chapters 3 to 11 give information
on the commissioning and operation of the device as
well as information on measures for operational
malfunctions. If you are already familiar with the
device and it has been installed and is ready for
operation, you can go directly to this part of the
manual.
Chapter 12
contains technical data and ordering information. This
chapter includes information on optional equipment
and the range of accessories for the shaker in
particular.
