PREPARATION PRIOR TO USE
 Select the suitable mask size.
VISUAL INSPECTION
 Check the packaging for damage.
 Check the product for damage and loose particles.
 If present, remove loose particles.
A faulty product must be disposed of (see "Disposal").
 Adjust the volume of the mask cushion (d) with a com-
mon syringe via the one-way valve (c).
 Position the opening of the membrane (a) depending on
the oral or nasal endoscopic procedure.
 Optional: Attach the extension tubing (e) to the Endos-
copy Mask.
Optional: For oral use, it is recommended to use a bite pro-
tection for the endoscope e. g. VBM Bronchoscope Airway
(f) (Fig. 2).
Use of the Bronchoscope Airway is the responsibility of the
user.
The Bronchoscope Airway prevents the tongue from blocking
the airways in unconscious patients.
 Select the suitable size.
 Perform visual inspection (see section "Visual inspec-
tion").
Do not insert or remove the Bronchoscope Airway with
excessive force.
 Insert the Bronchoscope Airway.
APPLICATION
CAUTION
The user must ensure efficient ventilation/oxygena-
tion during the entire procedure.
 Connect the Endoscopy Mask to the breathing system.
 Apply the Endoscopy Mask firmly over the patient's
mouth and nose so that it forms an airtight seal of the
upper airways.
 Hold the Endoscopy Mask in place.
 Optional: Fix the Endoscopy Mask adequately with a
Fixation Tape (g) (Fig. 3).
 Do not remove the membrane during the procedure.
 Remove the plug (b) of the membrane to obtain access
to the patient´s mouth or nose (Fig. 4).
 Insert the lubricated endoscope through the opening of
the membrane (Fig. 5).
 After the procedure remove the endoscope and close the
membrane with the plug.
AFTER USE
 Remove and disconnect the Endoscopy Mask and the
accessories used.
SHELF LIFE
The shelf life of the product is 5 years from the date of
manufacture.

STORAGE AND TRANSPORT CONDITIONS
CAUTION
• Protect from heat and store in a dry place.
• Keep away from sunlight and light sources.
• Store and transport in the original packaging.
DISPOSAL
CAUTION
The product may be contaminated with potentially
infectious substances of human origin.
The used or faulty product must be disposed of in accord-
ance with the applicable national and international legal
regulations.
