The battery housing is under the passenger's seat.
Installing the battery (operation performed before delivery)
To place the battery in its housing, follow the instructions below:
•
First charge the battery.
•
Apply the adhesive band supplied with the vehicle as shown in Fig. 39a,
removing the two protective films from the ends of the adhesive area, as
shown by the arrow in the drawing (P - Fig. 39a).
•
Open the seat with the ignition key.
•
Using an Allen wrench loosen the two screws (V - fig. 39b) that
secure the passenger's seat in place.
•
Detach the 15A fuse located under the left hand cover of of the front
casing (fig. 38 - page 47).
•
Remove the wiring with the BLUE and LIGHT BLUE cables (+) and
the two BLACK cables (-) to be connected to the battery.

Fit the battery, making sure that it perfectly fits in its housing and that
the breather pipe (only for the 125 version) comes out of the hole
provided.
•
Connect the wires to the battery.
Positive pole (+) BLUE and LIGHT BLUE cables.
Negative pole (-) two BLACK cables (fig. 40).

•
Refit the passenger's seat and secure it in place with the screws.
•
Reconnect the 15A fuse and close the cover.
•
Set up the instruments.
Remove the 15A fuse before checking, charging or re-
moving the battery.
Never attempt to disconnect the battery cables while the
engine is running. This operation can irreparably damage
the vehicle's electronic control unit. The electrolyte con-
tains sulphuric acid: avoid contact with eyes, skin and
clothes. In the event of accidental contact, rinse the ex-
posed part with water and seek medical assistance.
Explosion hazard!
NOTE Never invert the cable polarity. Danger of short circuits and
damage to the electrical equipment. To prevent the elec-
trolyte leaking, never tilt the vehicle too much.
