18. Troubleshooting

With the wireless DVR/monitor set you have purchased a product that has been designed according to the state of
the art and is reliable in operation. Even then problems and malfunctions can occur. Therefore, observe the following
information on how to eliminate possible malfunctions.
Wireless camera image is not displayed
• Each wireless camera (up to 4) must be connected to the monitor/DVR. This process is also known as "pairing".
Please refer to section 12. a).
• The wireless camera included with the monitor/DVR is typically supplied pre-connected (wireless camera on chan-
nel 1). If, nevertheless, no image is displayed, simply connect it again.
• Check whether the wireless camera channel has been switched off (see section 12. b). If this is the case, switch
the channel back on.
• Test the function by operating the monitor/DVR and wireless camera at a distance of 1 – 2 m. If necessary, perform
the connection process ("Connect") again, as described above.
• Select the correct wireless camera/channel.
• Check that the wireless camera is supplied with power via the mains adapter.
• Check whether the antenna of the wireless camera and the monitor/DVR is correctly attached; reorient the antenna.
• Refer to section 19.
The range is too short
• Reorient the monitor/DVR and wireless camera antennas.
• Never point the antennas at each other, as this significantly reduces the range. For optimal range, the monitor/DVR
and wireless camera antennas should be parallel to each other.
• Check whether the antenna of the wireless camera and the monitor/DVR is correctly attached.
• Refer to section 19.
The recording is black and white
• The nighttime recording with activated IR LEDs is always in black and white and not in colour (note: The light from
the IR LEDs is not visible to the human eye).
LCD screen of the monitor/DVR displays no image
• Check the monitor/DVR power supply. Is the power LED on?
• Switch on the display using the "
can be switched on or off with the button; the monitor/DVR still operates internally).
Motion detection does not function properly
• The monitor/DVR detects movements based on changes in the camera image. The motion detection feature is not
influenced by the ambient temperature or temperature of the moving object (contrary to conventional PIR sensors).
However, false trippings cannot be excluded due to this principle, for example, due to moving vegetation or rapid
changes in brightness (sun/clouds).
• Use a different sensitivity setting.
• Reorient the wireless camera.
