10. Basic functions

a) Switching on and off
• Both the monitor/DVR and the wireless camera have no on/off switch. When the devices are supplied with power
via the respective mains adapter, they are ready for operation.
• Press the "
" button to turn the monitor/DVR display on or off. However, the monitor/DVR still operates internally.
b) Entering/exiting the OSD menu
• Briefly press the "MENU" button (3, 31) on the monitor/DVR or the IR remote control. The main menu is then
displayed.
• To exit the OSD menu, briefly press the corresponding button again (multiple button presses may be required if the
monitor/DVR is in a submenu).
c) Adjusting the volume
• A special feature is a microphone (26) on the cable of the small wireless camera housing. Thus, the wireless cam-
era not only outputs an image of the monitored area, but also reproduces the surrounding noises.
• The monitor/DVR playback volume can be set on the monitor/DVR or via the IR remote control (feature is not pos-
sible if OSD menu is active):
"
" button = turn up the volume
"
" button = turn down the volume
• When the button is pressed, a volume bar with the currently set volume level appears at the bottom of the display
for a few seconds.
Acoustic feedback and whistling noises can occur if the wireless camera is operated too close to the moni-
tor/DVR (e.g. during initial start-up test or when connecting the wireless camera to the monitor/DVR). Then
turn down the volume.
d) Display of signal strength
If only a single channel is displayed (not in Quad mode), a signal strength symbol appears at the top left of the display.
The more lines are displayed, the stronger the signal reception.
e) Recording quality display
If only a single channel is displayed (not in Quad mode), a recording quality symbol appears at the top left of the
display.
• "VGA" = VGA resolution (640 x 480)
• "HD" = HD resolution (1280 x 720)
