9. Initial operation

a) Monitor/DVR
• Peel a protective film off the LC display (15), if any.
• Mount the supplied bracket on the monitor/DVR. The monitor/DVR can be easily installed using the bracket (without
fixed attachment). In this case, use a suitable underlay to protect valuable furniture surfaces from pressure marks,
discolouration or scratch marks.
• Screw the two large antennas on the back of the monitor/DVR. The antennas can be tilted and aligned to improve
reception.
Always use both antennas at the same time!
• Now take the mains adapter with the larger plug (output voltage 12 V/DC, output current 1000 mA, see type plate).
Insert the low-voltage round plug of the mains adapter into the corresponding socket (13) of the monitors/DVR.
Do not mix up the two mains adapters! The mains adapters have a different output voltage and a different
round plug.
• Plug the mains adapter into a standard mains socket connected to the public supply grid. The power LED (12)
lights up.
• A suitable SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card (not included, can be ordered separately, max. 128 GB) is required
to save video recordings. Be sure to insert the memory card into the corresponding slot (1) correctly. When the
memory card is inserted, a small "SD" symbol appears at the bottom right of the display.
The memory card should be empty (or it must have enough space). Only FAT/FAT32 file formats are al-
lowed (no NTFS). The memory card in the monitor/DVR can be reformatted, if necessary, but all existing
data will be lost.
It is important that the memory card used complies with at least "Class 4" (or higher). Memory cards of this
class allow a write speed of at least 4 Mbps and are essential for proper function when recording surveil-
lance videos.
Make sure that the write protection of the SD memory card is disabled (small slide on the side of the
memory card).
The memory card cannot be changed when the monitor/DVR is in operation. Neither recording nor play-
back is allowed. Failure to observe this can damage the memory card's file system, whereby existing
recordings will be permanently lost.
