9. Initial operation

a) Cameras
• Use the pre-assembled bracket to install both cameras in a suitable place. Use suitable screws and dowels, if
necessary, depending on the surface. If the connection cable is to be guided through a wall, use a small plastic bag
or the like to protect the connectors from dust and dirt. The connection cable can also be led out laterally through
an opening (26) on the edge of the bracket.
Ensure that no cables or wires are damaged when drilling holes or tightening screws.
Before a permanent installation, make sure the camera captures the desired coverage area.
Select an installation site that is protected against attempts to tamper with the camera. The camera should
be mounted at a minimum height of 2.5 m for this reason.
For outdoor use we recommend choosing a location that is protected from rain or spray water (e.g. under
eaves) as the formation of droplets on the camera's front panel can lead to a distorted and unusable image.
• Orient the camera lens to the desired surveillance area. You can precisely adjust it later when the monitor/DVR
displays the camera image.
• Connect the included connection cable to the corresponding camera sockets. Lay the cable e.g. in a suitable cable
duct or similar.
The plugs are not protected from moisture/humidity. They must therefore be placed in a dry place (for
example, in a suitable connection box or similar).
b) Monitor/DVR
• Place the monitor/DVR on a flat, horizontal, stable surface so that it cannot tip over or fall down. Use a suitable
underlay to protect valuable furniture surfaces from dents or scratches.
The monitor/DVR can also be secured with screws using two openings in the base. Use screws and, depending on
the surface, dowels to secure the monitor/DVR in place.
Ensure that no cables or wires are damaged when drilling holes or tightening screws.
• Connect the corresponding Y-cable (RJ45 plug and 2x BNC connectors + 1x round socket) to the RJ45 socket (13)
on the back of the monitor/DVR.
• Connect the two connection cable plugs to the corresponding two BNC sockets. If the assignment of cameras 1 and
2 is to be changed later, just swap the two BNC connectors.
• A suitable SD/SDHC/SDXC memory card (not included, can be ordered separately, max. 128 GB) can be inserted
into the SD card slot (1). Be sure to insert the memory card into the corresponding slot correctly. The memory card
allows recording camera video signals.
