Place the scaler handpiece, nose cone,
and light pipe in the ultrasonic tank
immersed in demineralised water at
40 °C ±5 °C and run a cycle for at least
10 minutes;
Rinse the inner channel of the scaler
handpiece using a 20 ml syringe previ-
ously filled with demineralised water. re-
peat five times;
Dry the surface of the scaler handpiece,
nose cone, and light pipe with a clean,
non-abrasive, low-lint cloth.
6.1.1.3 Inserts
Place the insert in a clean container, in a
horizontal position. Add enough enzy-
matic detergent solution to completely
cover it.
Leave the insert to soak in the enzymatic
detergent solution for 10 minutes at am-
bient temperature (22 °C ±2 °C);
