Complete cleaning
For complete cleaning, the collet chuck must be removed from the machine
spindle or machine table, completely dismantled, cleaned and reinstalled.
Removal and dismantling of the collet chuck
1. Remove the collet chuck from the machine spindle or machine table.
2. Loosen and remove the fixing screw (2) from the basic body (1).
3. Remove the collet (4) from the basic body (1) in the forward direction.
4. Remove the drives (10) laterally from the basic body (1).
5. Undo and remove the six holding screws on the flange (11).
6. Pull the flange (11) out of the basic body (1) from the back.
7. Pull the protective sleeve (7) forward out of the basic body (1).
8. Pull the tool stop (8) forward out of the basic body (1).
9. Pull the spiral ring (6) backwards out of the basic body (1). When doing
so, watch out for the fitting keys.
10. Pull the clamping nut (9) out of the basic body (1) from the back.
11. Pull the piston (3) out of the basic body (1) from the back. When doing
so, watch out for the fitting key.
ü The collet chuck is dismantled.
Cleaning the collet chuck
Thoroughly clean the dismantled collet chuck with a cloth soaked in pet-
roleum or benzine and remove oil, grease residue, dirt and abrasion.
ü The collet chuck is clean.

Skin irritations due to contact with lubricants.
Lubricants may cause irritations in the event of contact with the
skin.
Ø When handling the collet chuck, wear safety goggles, long
work clothes and gloves.
Ø Avoid skin contact with lubricants.
