14.3.1

Recharging the batteries

WARNING
THE BATTERIES MUST ONLY BE CHARGED IN A SAFE AREA AND ONLY
WITH THE AOIP SAS CHARGER SUPPLIED FOR USE WITH THE MULTI-
CALIBRATOR.
Use the charger supplied as standard only. Switch the calibrator "OFF" before
connecting the charger. Recharging time period is 8/10 hours from empty to full
charge in OFF condition. Occasional charging over more than 16 hours is permitted.
14.3.2

Battery maintenance

Do not store the calibrator with discharged or partial discharged batteries. Always
recharge the batteries after you have finished your job. The batteries are fully
charged at 7.2 Volt (NiMH) batteries are nearly discharged at 6.8 Volt.
During operation a fully battery symbol "≠" will be displayed on the display. This
symbol means that the batteries are completely full. When the batteries will be
discharged the symbol "–" will appear and the instrument still has about 20 minutes
operation capability to end the running analysis.
The battery symbol indicates that a full charge is required. Use only the dedicated
battery charger supplied by AOIP sas together the instrument.
CAUTION: Old batteries can leak and cause corrosion. Never leave run down
batteries in the instrument
14.3.3

Battery pack replacement

The batteries are a part of the instrument housing. Open the calibrator (ONLY IN
SAFE AREAS) by releasing all visible screws at the back and inside the battery
compartment. Lift gently the housing lower half off and disconnect the cable with the
white plug. Proceed reverse to install the new pack. Battery pack replacement must
be carried out by qualified technicians only. Ask your distributor. No recalibration is
required.
