14.2 ATEX Specifications
Model calys60/80/120 IS marked with label "Ex" has been built in accordance with
European Norm II 1G Ex ia IIC T4 and may be used in IEC defined zones 0,1 and 2.
The Intrinsically Safe (IS) is a security standard applied into potential explosive
environmental. The "Intrinsically Safe" certified instruments are been designed and
made in order to do NOT release thermal and electric energy able to induce the
ignition of flammable materials (gas) even in case of malfunction or connection
errors.
The calys60/80/120 IS are an ATEX directive compliant calibrator and it is certified
as II 1G Ex ia IIC T4
The explanation code is as follows:

Temperature Class: maximum ambient operative temperature of 135°C.
The allowed ambient operating temperature is higher of the normal electrical
manufacture (from -20°C to +40°C), that's why there is the temperature
indication (-20°C Tamb +50°C)
The T4 temperature class has been adopted. All the temperature classes are
as follow:

14.3 Instructions for use
Special precautions for use in hazardous areas
1. Do not connect the output terminals to external powered circuits when
calibrator sources Volts or milliamps.
2. Make sure that the parameters of both the calibrator and the instrument
match.
3. Do not exceed parameters nameplate data.
4. Do not open battery enclosure in a potentially esplosive atmosphere.
5. Do not charge or attempt to charge the batteries.
6. Do not use the serial port.
7. Do not open the calibrator housing when an explosive gas atmosphere may
be present.
