7 OPERATION AND SETTING

7.1 Operating the pump

The electronic module houses:
the LC display with the touchpad for operating the pump
x
LC display: (FIG. 1, pos. 4) The setting parameters of the pump are
represented on the LC display by symbols and numerical valu-
es. The display is constantly lit.
Meaning of the symbols:
Symbol
Description of possible operating status
Double pump running in addition mode
(master and/or slave).
Double pump running in main/reserve mode
(master or slave).
All settings on the module apart from "ack-
nowledge error" are blocked.
Pump operated via the serial data interface
(applies for PLR+LON) (see section 7.4).
Differential pressure setpoint.
Pump set to constant speed (1800 rpm in this
case) (regulator mode).
Control system !p-c, regulated to constant
differential pressure setpoint (FIG. 3).
Control system !p-v, regulated to variable dif-
ferential pressure setpoint (FIG. 4).
The 'regulator' mode deactivates the module
regulations. The speed of the pump is kept at
a constant value. The speed is set internally
using the tuning button. The speed range
depends on the motor power.
10 V
Regulator mode activated, pump speed is
set via the input IN2 0...10 V (2... 10 V or 0... 20
mA, 4...20 mA).
or
20 mA In this case the tuning button does not have
a setpoint input function. The pump is swit-
ched on or off via the input signal.
on
Pump switched on.
off
Pump switched off.
MA
Master pump.
SL
Slave pump.
Fault-tolerant error matrix activated. Heating
HV
mode (in case of errors see Chapter 11)
Fault-tolerant error matrix deactivated. Air-condi-
AC
tioning mode (in case of errors see
Chapter 11).
LCD
This indication appears when selecting the
viewing direction – the orientation of the dis-
play can be rotated 180°C.
dPS
Pressure value correction.
IN 1
External actual value (identical to terminal
designation in terminal box).
IN 2
External setpoint (identical to terminal desi-
gnation in terminal box).
Id
Displayed in the case of a pump with IF modu-
le LON, for issuing a service message to the
building management system.
Operating the touchpad
Pressing the acknowledge button
x
to select different menu levels
to confirm/acknowledge inputs
Pressing a tuning button
x
to select/alter a value
The tuning buttons are not identified!
The function depends on the orientation of the
display (see menu u).
'+' increase value, forward: always upper button
'-' decrease value, backward:always lower button
Menu structure: There are three menu levels. The levels below the
basic setting display are always accessed from level 1 by pres-
sing the acknowledge button for a specific period of time.
Level 1 – Status display (indication of the operating status)
Level 2 – Operation menu (to set the basic functions):
Press button and hold down for more than 2 s
x
Level 3 – Service menu (further settings):
Press button and hold down for more than 6 s
x
If nothing is input after 30 s the display returns to
CAUTION!
level 1 (display of operating status).
Temporary, unacknowledged modifications are rejected.

7.2 Functions

Selectable control modes:
p-c
The electronics keeps the differential pres-
!
sure produced by the pump above the
permissible delivery flow range at the set
differential pressure setpoint, H
maximum characteristic (FIG. 3).
p-v
The electronics alters the pump's differen-
!
tial pressure setpoint in a straight line bet-
ween H
setpoint, H, decreases or increases in
accordance with the transporting capaci-
ty (FIG. 4).
Regulator mode:
The speed of the pump is kept at a con-
stant speed between nmin and nmax
(FIG. 5). The regulator mode deactivates
the module regulations.
Pressure value correction
The LRE is standard equipped with an internal pressure value
correction facility, which is activated and deactivated via the
service menu "dPS".
Setting at delivery:
The actual pressure value is measured at the pump flange. The
standard mounted sensor generates a signal of 0-10 V that is
proportionate to the differential pressure measured between
the measuring point on the suction side and the measuring
point on the discharge side.
Alternatively, the differential pressure can be measured at free-
ly selectable points before and after the pump. For this, it is
recommended to switch off the pressure value correction
function (see section 7.4.3; menu
