Differential pressure sensor connection:
x
already factory-connected via cable gland M12, via (1), (2),
(3) in accordance with the sensor cable designations (1,2,3).
The differential pressure sensor must always be connected to
the master.
Ensure that the shielding is correctly connected

in the terminal box.
IN2 External control signal
x
Can be set in the service menu. Possible settings: 0-10V; 2-10V;
0-20mA; 4-20mA.
The terminal is activated in the Settings menu.
Ensure that the shielding is correctly connected

switch.
With contact closed (factory-bridged) the module is ready
for operation.
With contact open the pump is switched off.
Contact load: 24 V DC / 10 mA
Do not connect an external voltage, as this

could destroy the module.
SBM (collective run signal):
x
potential-free collective run signal (single-pole, double-throw
contact) is available on the SBM terminals. Contact load:
minimum: 12 V DC, 10 mA,
maximum: 250 V AC, 1 A.
SSM (collective fault signal):
x
potential-free collective fault signal (single-pole, double-
throw contact) is available on the SSM terminals. Contact
load:
minimum: 12 V DC, 10 mA,
maximum: 250 V AC, 1 A.
Control terminals 1,2,3 GND, 4...20mA, aux, ext.
CAUTION!
Off satisfy the requirement for PELV circuits, the
relays for SELV circuits (according to EN 61800-5-
1 / VDE 0160 Part 105).
Optional IF module PLR / IF module LON is inserted into the
x
mulltiplug in the terminal box.
PLR/LON: supply terminals of the serial, digital BMS interface
(PLR); connection is locked.
DP: Double pump operation
communication between both pumps is via the double
pump cable,
connected to the 'MP' terminals in both terminal boxes.
To this end, connect cables 'L' and 'L' and cables 'H' and 'H'.
The cables must be fed through the M12 cable glands.
Pump/unit must be earthed in compliance with regulations.

Prior to commencing work on the pump the supply vol-
tage must be switched off. Work on the module shall
not be started until 5 minutes have elapsed because of
the presence of hazardous contact voltages (capaci-
tors). Check that all connections (potential-free con-
tacts included) are neutral.

8.3 Mains voltage
In general, the pumps operate at 400V 50Hz. The documented
characteristics have been determined on the basis of this vol-
tage.
Different operating conditions result in a different control cha-
racteristic.
9 STARTING-UP
The pump and the module must be at ambient temperature before
being switched on.

9.2 Setting the pump power
The unit has been designed for a specific operating point
(point of maximum load, calculated maximum heating
demand). When starting up for the first time, the pump capaci-
ty (delivery head) must be set in accordance with the unit's
operating point. The factory setting does not correspond to the
pumping capacity required for the unit. It is calculated on the
basis of the characteristic diagram of the selected pump (from
the catalogue / data sheet). See also FIG. 3 and 4

The system must be filled and ventilated properly.
To avoid cavitation noise and damage, it is important to
ensure a minimum inlet pressure at the suction port of the
pump. This minimum inlet pressure depends on the location
and point of operation and must be determined accordingly.
Essential parameters in determining the minimum inlet pressu-
re are the NPSH value of the pump at its operation point and
the steam pressure of the flow medium.
Bleed pumps by loosening the vent valves (FIG. 9, 10, pos. 8.2).
A dry run will destroy the pump's mechanical
CAUTION!
seal.
The differential pressure sensor must not be bled
(risk of destruction).
Depending on the fluid temperature and the system
pressure, if the vent screw is completely loosened, hot
liquid or gas can escape or even squirt out at high pres-
sure. Risk of scalding!
Depending on the operating condition of the pump
and/or installation (fluid temperature), the entire pump
can become very hot.
Risk of scalding through contact with the pump!
The minimum volume flow must never be less than 7% of
the maximum volume flow.
Too low a volume flow can cause damage to the
mechanical seal.
!p-v (FIG. 4)
Continue the control characteristic until it
meets the max. characteristic, then
continue horizontally to the left, read set
value HS and set the pump in accordance
with this value.
