2.5.3 Proportional valve

Depending on the required pressure and flow ranges, directly operating proportional
solenoid valves of different nominal diameters are employed as actuators. The low-
friction guide of the moving armature, combined with driving via a PWM signal,
assures a continuous, to a large extent linear characteristic. Furthermore, high
responsiveness is guaranteed. Both are important for optimum functioning in a
closed loop.
The material routinely used for both the seating seals and the seals to the outside is
FPM.
è The compatibility of the sealing material with the usual operating media may
be seen in the Burkert stability tables.
ATTENTION!
NOTE
è In the choice of proportional valve, take into account the fundamental fluidic
data of the installation in which the MFC Type 8626 will be used (see 3.1).
Only then will the desired performance data and optimum control
characteristic be assured.
The proportional valve assumes both the control function and also the tight closure
function when the equipment is operated within the specified pressure range. As
soon as the control electronics detects a set value of less than 2% of the nominal
flow rate, voltage is no longer supplied to the valve.

2.5.4 Housing

For the basic body of the sensor and valve blocks, as well as for the flange plates,
an aluminium alloy is used. Special filter elements in stainless steel protect the
downstream components, in particular the sensor, from contamination or damage by
larger particles in the medium stream.

The data in these tables are of informative nature and cannot
replace own tests under the existing operating conditions. In
particular, no guarantee of compatibility with media can be
derived from these data.
For special applications, we supply on request equipment with
other sealing materials.
