Calibration

Every MFC Type 8626 is calibrated during final testing. The calibration data obtained
are stored in the EEPROM of the controllers. In general, the calibration is carried out
using the specified operating gas, except for devices specified for the gases
nitrogen, oxygen, ammonia and certain gas mixtures. With the latter, calibration is
done with air and a subsequent correction formula, which takes into account the
differences in the thermal transport properties of air and the operating fluid.
NOTE
When using gases that may cause deposits on the sensor (e.g. oil-
containing air), be aware that the precision may be reduced due to
changes in the heat transfer between the heated sensor element
and the gas flowing by. In such cases, a cleaning and recalibration
in the factory might become necessary.

Commissioning

NOTE
After receiving the delivery, make sure that no obvious damage can
be seen arising from improper handling during transport. In case of
complaints, contact our service department immediately
(see page 28).
è After removing the protective caps, install the MFC Type 8626 in the piping.
è Avoid uneven tensioning on tightening.
è Pay attention to cleanliness, especially of the supply line.
è By installing a suitable filter upstream, assure a clean, oil-free and not unduly
moist medium stream.
è On connection pay attention to the correct flow direction (arrow on the base
block).
è Make absolutely sure (e.g with a suitable liquid separator), that no liquid
phase may flow through the controller.
