Cold start
• Make sure that the appliance is refueled.
• Disconnect all power consumers from the appliance.
• Measure the oil level before every start, see section Cleaning, care and maintenance
on page 22, check the spark plug cap in Cleaning the spark plug cap on page 26,
and the air filter in Cleaning, care and maintenance on page 22 to ensure that it is
intact and firmly seated.
The appliance is supplied without oil. However, there are oil residues in the engine.
Before operation, be sure to top up the oil according to the instructions!
Switch on
Risk of equipment damage and environmental damage. Cable connections
may come loose during operation. Check all visible cable connections for
tightness. Check the fuel system for leaks before every start!
• Open the fuel tap. See also Fig. 6. (Handle on the tap points downwards)
• Move the red motor switch to the "ON" position.
• Set the choke lever to the cold start position (stop right).
For a warm start, move the choke lever to the operating position (left stop).
• Pull the cable pull evenly and firmly.
• Let the cable reel up in a controlled manner - do not simply let go.
• The appliance starts after pulling the cord one to three times.
