Information
The coefficients R, S and T usually have many decimal places. Depending on the editor
(engineering software, IO-LINK master software) you are using, the number of decimal
places may appear too low when reading out the coefficients. If you have HBK perform
the calibration, the sensor will always work with maximum accuracy. HBK ensures that
the coefficients are entered in full. Even if your software does not display the decimal
places fully, they are complete in the sensor, and the device will work with optimal accu
racy. HBK has no influence on the display of parameters in your editor.
In some cases, likewise depending on the editor you are using, it might be that too few
decimal places are transferred to the sensor, so that the linearization does not achieve
the maximum possible accuracy. In this case we recommend:
S
entering coefficients less than 1 as an exponential number in the editor (1.2345 * E-6
instead of 0.00000012345)
S
Coefficients greater than 1 can be rounded to six decimal places without affecting the
linearization.
S
Alternatively, it may be useful to write the values from the calibration certificate
directly into the relevant field using your control unit.
HBK has no influence on the number of decimal places that your editor transfers to the
measurement chain. The sensor will always work correctly if the coefficients have been
transferred correctly and with enough decimal places.
8.2.2.7.2 Measurement output in a different unit (Unit Conversion)
Use the "Unit Conversion" item to select a unit other than N. The numeric value that is
then sent to the downstream electronics is the same as the one displayed in the software
of your IO-Link master (editor).
You can now select the unit under "Process Data". If you select kN, MN the conversion is
automatic; if you select a different unit a "Userdefined Unit Conversion" dialog appears.
In it, you can enter a factor ("Unit Conversion Factor") by which the Newton value is multi
plied. You can also enter a zero offset using the "Userdefined Zero Offset" field.
