Information
As there are 21 supporting points, it is possible to create two calibration certificates for
tensile/compressive force transducers: one for the tension range and one for the pressure
range. This eliminates the difference in tension/compression rated outputs.
Linearization via compensation function
Select "Cubic polynomial calibration". You can use cubic, quadratic or linear compensa
tion functions. The "Adjustment Coefficients" item appears, and it is possible to process
two cubic functions: One for the tensile force range, and one for the compressive force
range.
The precondition for this is that a calibration has been performed, and its result is in the
following format:
F output = R*X^3 + S*X^2 + T*X
Important
If you have a tensile/compressive force sensor calibrated in only one force direction, we
strongly recommend that you enter the value 1 for T in the non-calibrated force direction,
and 0 for all other coefficients in this force direction. If you enter 0 for T, the result will
also be 0 Newtons when a force is applied in the relevant direction of force. The calibrated
force direction is displayed correctly if the coefficients from the calibration certificate
have been entered correctly.
