With this cable assignment, the output voltage at the signal conditioner is positive in the
tensile direction when the transducer is loaded.
The cable shield is connected to the transducer housing. Only use plugs that meet EMC
guidelines. The shielding must be fitted flat all over the surface. With other connection
techniques, an EMC-proof shield should be applied in the stranded wire area and this
shielding should also be connected extensively (also see HBM Greenline Information,
brochure i1577).
8.1.2
Shortening or extending the cable
In versions with fixed cable, the cable can be shortened or extended. Use shielded, low-
capacitance measurement cables only for extensions (see also Section 8.1.4).
Ensure that the connection is perfect with a low contact resistance, and connect the
cable shield. We recommend producing the extension as a 6-wire configuration, so that
the rated output does not change.
