• Always follow patient monitoring protocol to avoid patient injury. Power save mode is active after one hour on battery
power and no motion release switch activation. Bed exit, scale, and motion functions will not operate while the product is
in power save mode.

When armed, C C h h a a p p e e r r o o n n e e bed exit monitors the patient's position on the product.
N N o o t t e e - - A notification appears if there is not enough weight on the product to arm bed exit.
To arm bed exit:
1. Set the scale to zero. See Setting the scale to zero (page 38).
N N o o t t e e - - If you do not set the scale to zero before placing a patient on the product, bed exit may not operate as intended.
2. Position the patient on the product.
3. Press and hold the A A r r m m / / D D i i s s a a r r m m button (D). See Footboard control panel - C C h h a a p p e e r r o o n n e e bed exit with zone control
(option) (page 33).
N N o o t t e e - - Zone 1 illuminates as the default zone when you arm C C h h a a p p e e r r o o n n e e bed exit.
4. To change the zone, press the Z Z o o n n e e button (E). See Footboard control panel - C C h h a a p p e e r r o o n n e e bed exit with zone control
(option) (page 33).
After arming C C h h a a p p e e r r o o n n e e bed exit, the LED light bars on the footboard illuminate green, the B B e e d d E E x x i i t t footboard indicator
LED illuminates, and the selected zone on the footboard control panel illuminates.

Allows the patient to move freely on the bed. Alarms when the patient
moves 50 percent of their body weight out of the designated zone.
Allows for limited movement. Alarms when the patient approaches the
siderail or the foot end of the bed.
Allows minimal movement. Alarms when the patient moves out of the
tightly restricted zone.
