5.3 Operation
During operation, the APAS test device can be used to determine the
static triggering distances according to section 4.1 and to determine the
residual distances according to section 4.2.
During operation, erroneous sensor skin triggering by persons,
inconveniently routed cables, an inconveniently placed stand or
other foreign objects used for testing must be avoided. During the
determination of the static triggering distances, the APAS test device
should only be held in the gripping range corresponding to fi g. 2 and
moved toward the sensor skin with the plate in front to ensure that
the plate enters the effective range in advance and to avoid erroneous
triggering by the hand of the operator. The supply line should be held
away from the sensor skin with the other hand. Incorrect sensor skin
triggering during testing can lead to an erroneous judgment about the
effectiveness of the protective equipment.
5.4 Decommissioning
After use, the machine must be restored to its original condition.
To do this, de-energize the machine and remove the APAS test device
according to the following steps, see fi g. 3 and fi g. 5:
1. Disconnect SSKU and control from the supply voltage.
2. Remove I/O line from plug PCB:X1 of the connection cable.
3. Remove crocodile clip X7 of the connection cable from the grounding
strap of the SSKU or the adjacent PE contact.
4. Remove plug X8 of the connection cable from X1 of the handle.
5. Disconnect plug X6 of the connection cable from X3 of the SSKU.
6. Insert I/O cable into plug X3 of the SSKU and retighten.
7. Remove the connection cable from the control cabinet.
8. Close the control cabinet.
9. Store the handle and the connection cable in the transport case
outside the working area of the machine.
10. Connect the SSKU and the control to the supply voltage.
