4.1
Determination of the static triggering distances
Risk of injury and damage by pressing the APAS test device CT-H too
fi rmly onto the sensor skin and by acceptance and release for operation
of machines with incorrect use of the APAS test device CT-H.
The pressing force must not exceed the value of 20 Newton.
When reading off the LED for dual-channel triggering on the handle,
the sensor skin must not be displaced or pressed in and no sensors
must be falsely triggered by the connecting cable, the validator
or foreign objects.
When guided by hand, the handle must always be held in the
gripping range as shown in fi g. 2.
Using the spacers, it can be checked whether the achievable triggering
distances of the sensor skin correspond to the specifi ed triggering
distances with the APAS test device. The specifi cation of the triggering
distances depends on the application-specifi c parameterization and
is determined by the operator of the machine in accordance with his
application-specifi c risk assessment.
When performing the measurements, spacers of the thickness
corresponding to the expected static triggering distance are placed on
the hand-shaped plate by Velcro and the APAS test device is moved
to the sensor skin by hand. The sensor skin is considered to be safely
triggered if both channels trigger, which is signaled by the LEDs of the
APAS test device. We recommend to additionally control the two-channel
triggering by means of the redundant status LEDs of the SSKU.
With two-channel triggering, the four Go1 and Go2 LEDs of the SSKU go
out, see fi g. 5.
We recommend to keep a log of the determined triggering distances and
to store it in a tamper-proof manner. For more information and training
opportunities, please visit the APAS website at www.boschrexroth.
