WARNING
•
Only operate the product when all operators are clear of the mechanisms.
•
Do not remove, sit, or place any load on the cover panels to avoid the risk of possible electrical shock hazard and
product damage. Service should only be performed by qualified personnel.
•
An operator should not touch connectors and the patient simultaneously to avoid the risk of patient or operator
injury.
•
Do not use the product in the presence of flammable anesthetics.
•
Always keep feet clear from the area above the base cover or below the base cover when lowering the product or
when applying the brakes or releasing the brakes.
•
Always apply the brakes when a patient is getting in the product or out of the product to avoid instability.
•
Always apply the brakes when the patient is unattended.
•
Always allow enough clearance between the head end of the product and the adjacent wall, so you can easily
unplug the power cord from the wall outlet during an emergency.
•
Always properly handle the power cord to avoid the risk of entanglement, damage to the power cord, or potential
shock hazards. If the power cord is damaged, immediately remove the product from service and contact the
appropriate maintenance personnel.
•
Always unplug the product power cord from the wall when using oxygen administering equipment. Possible fire
hazard exists when this product is used with oxygen administering equipment other than nasal, mask type, or half
bed-length tent type.
•
Always store the power cord before transporting the Birthing Bed.
•
Do not use the foot section locking bar as a grasping bar or other patient assist device.
•
Always leave the product in the lowest position when the patient is unattended to help reduce the number and
severity of patient falls.
•
Always make sure that all persons and equipment are away from the area below and around the fowler before you
activate the CPR release. The CPR release is for emergency use only.
•
Always set the siderail position necessary to make sure that a patient is safely in the product.
•
Always lock the nurse control panel and patient control panel when the patient is unattended.
•
Always keep the siderails outside of the oxygen tent.
•
Always keep hands clear of potential pinch points while positioning the labor grips.
•
Always lower and lock the locking bar before placing weight on the foot section.
•
Do not extend the oxygen tent below the mattress platform.
•
Do not clean, service, or perform maintenance while the product is in use.
•
When large spills occur in the area of the circuit boards, 120VAC cables, and motors, always immediately unplug
the power cord from the wall outlet. Remove the patient from the product, clean up the fluid, and have service
personnel completely inspect the product. Fluids can cause unpredictable operation and decreased functionality of
any electrical product. Do not return the product to service until it is completely dry and has been thoroughly tested
for safe operation.
•
Always completely dry the mattress after cleaning. Failure to thoroughly rinse and dry mattresses after cleaning
may cause damage to the mattress and may void this product's warranty.
