WARNING

It is the responsibility of the cot operator to ensure that the cot being used in the Stryker Model 6385, 6386, 6387,
6388, and 6389 Cot Fastener System meets the installation specifications listed on
Injury may result if a non-compatible cot is used in the Stryker Model 6385, 6386, 6387, 6388, and 6389 Cot
Fastener System.
•
Improper installation can result in injury. Install the cot fastener as described in this manual.
•
The fastener closes with a strong spring action. To avoid injury, DO NOT use hand or fingers to depress the
release lever when the hooks are open.
•
Improper testing can result in injury. Test the fastener using BS:EN1789 as a minimum.
•
Replace the cot fastener system if it has been involved in an accident. A fastener that has been involved in an
accident may be damaged, possibly causing failure to operate properly. Injury could result.
•
SOME CLEANING PRODUCTS ARE CORROSIVE IN NATURE AND MAY CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE PRODUCT
IF USED IMPROPERLY. When cleaning Stryker patient care equipment, measures must be taken to insure the
equipment is wiped with a cloth soaked in clean water and thoroughly dried following cleaning.
•
Failure to properly rinse and dry the equipment after cleaning may leave a corrosive residue on the surface of the
equipment, possibly causing premature corrosion of critical components.
CAUTION
•
Do not use screws smaller than the 3/8" diameter specified to anchor any of the floor plates.
•
The cot must be in its fully down position to properly engage the cot fastener.
•
To ensure the cot is in the lowest position press the retract (-) button until the cot stops moving downward. This
should be done prior to attempting to engage the cot into the cot fastener.
•
To reduce risk of damage to the cot or cot fastener, do not attempt to activate the cot height activation while it
is engaged in the cot fastener.
