WARNING!
Inverted tooth chain drive | R418009760–BDL–001–AA/2009-07

Commissioning the system

1.
Switch the system on according to the system specifications.
2.
Immediately after switching it on, check to see whether the
inverted tooth chain is running evenly (see "Inspecting the
inverted tooth chain" on page 77).

During operation

Damage to property and injuries!
Unequal chain run, vibrations, foreign bodies in the toothing or
other irregularities can damage the inverted tooth chain drive.
This can lead to personal injury and damage to the system.
X
Switch the system off and secure the system from being
switched on again.
X
Try to determine the cause using the Table of malfunctions on
page 82.
Used chains can break loose and lash about uncontrollably. This
can injure persons and damage the system.
X
Ensure for a continuous supply of lubricant.
X
Inspect the inverted tooth chain drive in the intervals
prescribed by the system operator (see "Inspecting the
inverted tooth chain" on page 77).

Lubricating inverted tooth chains

To keep wear and tear to a minimum, lubricate your inverted tooth
chain regularly. CAUTION: The oil film that was applied before
delivery is corrosion protection oil and does not have lubricating
properties.
Refer to Appendix on page 85 for recommended lubricants.
The type of lubricant depends on the speed at which the inverted
tooth chain operates. Refer to Table 9 to determine the lubricant
type. The following pages provide further details on lubricant
types.
