Inverted tooth chain assembly
Positioning the inverted tooth chain
The following instructions apply to inverted tooth chains that
already have the correct length. See "Lengthening or shortening
inverted tooth chains" on page 70 for instructions on adjusting the
chain length.
Position the inverted tooth chain as follows:
1.
Secure the sprockets to prevent them from turning
inadvertently.
2.
Remove the pre-assembled split pin lock, if necessary, by
opening and removing the split pin and the washer. Pull out all
joint pivots.
3.
Place the inverted tooth chain over the sprockets so that the
end pieces of the inverted tooth chain engage with the top of
a sprocket without lateral offset. The order of the connection
chain link's plates must correspond to the adjoining chain
links. The plate holes must line up.
4.
Secure the inverted tooth chain with screw clamps, if
necessary. Ensure that the sprockets and the inverted tooth
chain are not damaged in the process.
