Opening the
inverted tooth chain
To clean an installed
1. Remove dirt with a cloth and, if necessary, a cleaning agent
that is approved for steel products without corrosion
protection; or clean the chain with compressed air.
2. Lubricate the chain immediately after cleaning to prevent
corrosion.
To clean an inverted tooth chain that is
1. Disassemble the inverted tooth chain as described in chapter

"Disassembling and replacing the inverted tooth chain drive"

on page 79.
2. Remove dirt
– with a cloth and, if necessary, a cleaning agent that is
approved for steel products without corrosion protection;
– or with compressed air,
– or by rinsing the chain in an oil bath.
3. Lubricate the chain immediately after cleaning to prevent
corrosion.
Disassembling and replacing the inverted
tooth chain drive
In order to replace the inverted tooth chain or the sprockets, you
must switch off the system and prevent the sprockets from
distortion. Then you can open the inverted tooth chain locking.
If you open an inverted tooth chain with rivet pin
must use a new rivet pin lock to lock it again. Proceed as follows:
1. Grind off the rivet head at any given point.
2. Remove the rivet plate and pull out all of the joint pivots.
3. Remove the opened inverted tooth chain.
