Inverted tooth chain lock check
X
Check whether the inverted tooth chain is positioned correctly
and locked securely. The locking joint must move smoothly.
Tensioning the inverted tooth chain
You must tension the inverted tooth chain
• to avoid too much chain slack (sag)
• or to achieve special operating properties, e.g. pre-tensioning
for reversing-operation.
Damage to property and injuries due to incorrect inverted
tooth chain tensioning!
The chain can skip due to insufficient tensioning or burst due to
overstraining.
X For inverted tooth chains that are not pre-tensioned:
Ensure that the slack span does not sag more than 1 % of
the axle distance.
X For pre-tensioned chains:
chain cannot be moved manually more than 2 % of the axle
distance.

If your application has different tensioning requirements,
contact Bosch Rexroth Ag, Antriebstechnik Zahnkette for
approval. The address is printed on the back cover of these
