Permanent connection to the mains supply

1. Remove the mains plug of the setting unit.

2. Disconnect the setting unit.

3. Ensure there is no voltage at the power supply connection.
4. Make the mains connection: correctly connect green/yellow wire to protec-

tive conductor PE, blue wire to neutral conductor N, brown + black wires
together to the external conductor L1.
5. Lay motor cable up to the motor, if necessary form a loop in the roller shut-

ter casing.
6. Fix motor cable so that it cannot protrude into the winding area.

7. Switch on power supply at the permanent connection.
8. Perform functional check if necessary.
9. Installation and commissioning are then complete.

Deleting the programmed end positions

End positions that have been detected can be deleted with the setting unit.
All stored transmitters and switching times remain unchanged.
1. If necessary, connect the setting unit (see p.23: Connecting the setting
unit).
2. Set unit function switch to reset
3. Switch on main switch (1).
4. The roller shutter drive acknowledges the deletion of the end positions with
a "double click".
5. Switch the main switch to the OFF position (0) and the function switch to
the mid position.

Obstacle detection

A correctly installed drive will switch off when the roller shutter movement is
impeded. This safety cut-off occurs in the following cases:
• Encountering an obstacle.
• Armour jammed in the guide rails.
• End rail frozen onto the window sill.
• Severe overloading of the tubular drive.
Note
BECKER tubular drives are designed for short-time operation
(S2/KB 4 min). A fitted thermo protection switch prevents over-
heating of the tubular drive. During commissioning (long roller
shutter, or long running time), triggering of the thermoswitch
may occur. The drive is then switched off. After a short cooling-
down period, the system is ready for operation again.
The drive will only reach the full duty cycle when it has cooled
down to ambient temperature. Avoid repeated actuation of the
thermo protection switch.
Caution
Electrical tasks must always be performed by appropriately
qualified electricians.
Note
Do not extend the motor connection cable. Only fit a supply line
with all 3 wires.

Attention
The motors are designed for use in individual systems (one
roller shutter armour per barrel and drive). If several roller
shutter armours are operated on one barrel (coupled systems),
the functioning of the obstacle detection cannot be guaran-
teed.
