Operating Instructions
The length of the roller shutter curtain must not exceed the window height plus the clear height of the roller shutter box. If lock-
ing straps are used, the curtain must not protrude over the guide rails in the closed position, as otherwise there is the risk that
the link between the two top laths will be too heavily loaded. Locking straps may only be used if the window height is at least
5 times the maximum winding diameter (example: 60 octagonal shaft with Zurfl uh-Feller locking strap: Maximum diameter
9cm → Window height > 45 cm). The roller shutter curtain must be prevented from being pulled into the roller shutter box by
means of a stopper or an angular end strip. For front facing elements we recommend the use of concealed stops in the guide
rails. Protect the individual laths against lateral movement.
Attention
When setting the end limits, ensure that the roller shutter curtain runs up and down smoothly and trouble-
free.

Setting the End Limits

1. Setting the top end limit
Becker tubular drives with electronic limit switching detect the top end limit auto-
matically during an installation run.
First of all, allow the tubular drive to turn until the top end limit is reached and the
drive switches off automatically. To ensure that the top end limit is reliably detected,
during the setting phase the tubular drive pulls the roller shutter curtain with slightly
increased force against the permanent stop. The stop (seal, lintel) should therefore
be as fi rm as possible (Fig. 9).
Note
If the tubular drive switches off prematurely during ascent due to an
obstacle, you should lower the roller shutter, remove the obstacle
and set the top end limit by raising the shutter again.
2. Setting the bottom end limit
The minimum distance that can be set between top and bottom end limit is 1.5 barrel
revolutions.
A.) Curtain suspension with locking strap:
Allow the drive to turn in the down direction until it switches off again automatically.
Make sure that it runs trouble-free until reaching the specifi ed cut-off point. If the
fi nal bottom end limit has not yet been completed, the cut-off point at the end of the
guide rail must be ensured by means of a temporary device (Fig. 10A).
Note
If the tubular drive switches off prematurely during descent due to
an obstacle, you should raise the roller shutter, remove the obstacle
and set the lower end limit by lowering the shutter again.
Now return the drive to the top end limit without interruption (Fig. 11A).
Note
If the tubular drive switches off prematurely during ascent due to an
obstacle, you should lower the roller shutter, remove the obstacle
and move to the top end limit by raising the shutter again.
Installation is now complete!
