Vent Termina on Confi ura ons
There are 4 config ratio s for vent terminati ns that are
approved for use with the RUR series water heaters:
1.
Concentric Terminati n (IPEX Concentric Vent Kit)
-Allows for only one penetra on through a wall or roof.
2.
Snorkel Terminati n
-Allows for easier clearance above grade when
having to terminate through a lower point
3.
Side Wall Tee Terminati n
4.
IPEX Low Profil Terminati n
-Used for fl sh mount side wall applicati n only.
Termina on Installa on
Exhaust and combustio air piping must be securely
fastened to structure every 4 feet, to ensure
dimensions shown in the Figures throughout this
manual are maintained.
DO NOT strap verti al vent too tightly as the strapping
must permit the vent to move in the event of
expansion and contrac on.
Straps are field supplied. Use straps, clamps or equiva-
lent that will not score or damage the pipe. Expansion
and contrac on should be addressed between appli-
ance and terminati n point.
All penetratio s must be sealed according to local
building codes. Caulking for side wall terminati ns and
fl shing for roof penetratio s are typical. Use only PVC/
CPVC compati le sealing material. Contact PVC/CPVC
manufacturer for a list of compati le materials.

For installatio s with mul ple terminati ns, maintain
appropriate clearances between terminals. (Reference

WARNING
Moisture in the flue gas will condense as it leaves the
vent terminal. In cold weather this condensate can freeze
on the exterior wall, under the eaves, and on surrounding
objects. Some discoloratio to the exterior of the building
is to be expected. However, improper locatio or
installatio can result in damage to the structure or
exterior fi ish of the building.

WARNING

primers are highly flammable. Provide adequate
venti atio and do not assemble near a heat source or
open flame. Do not smoke. Avoid contact with the skin or
eyes. Observe all cautio s and warnings on material
containers.
