Safe Operating Practices
25. The oven will retain heat after the burners have been turned off, especially the Baking Stones. Use
caution when coming in contact with the oven immediately after use.
26. The Pizza Oven must be cooled before it is covered. Never place the cover on when cooking or
while hot.
27. Keep all electrical cords and gas supply lines away from heated surfaces.
28. Spiders and insects like to nest in the burners, ventures, valves, and orifices of a Pizza Oven,
disrupting the gas flow. This very dangerous condition can cause a fire behind the control panel,
damaging the Pizza Oven and risking personal injury. If your Pizza Oven has been unused for a
long time, inspect and clean the burners, ventures, valves, and orifices.
29. Clean the Pizza Oven with caution. Avoid steam burns; do not use a wet sponge or cloth to clean
the Pizza Oven while it is hot. Some cleaners produce noxious fumes or can ignite if applied to a
hot surface.
30. Do not use charcoal or lighting fuel inside the smoker box accessory.
31. Do not move the appliance during use.
32. Do not use a power washer to clean the Pizza Oven.
33. Always have an ABC Fire Extinguisher accessible — never attempt to extinguish a grease fire with
water or other liquids.
34. All gas lines must have a shut-off that is readily and easily accessible. If you smell gas, check for
gas leaks immediately. Check only with a soap and water solution.
35. Ensure proper installation and servicing by following all instructions in this Use and Care Guide
and any other instructions or markings provided with this product. Have your pizza oven installed
by a licensed gas fitter. Have the installer show you where the gas supply shut-off valve is located
and instruct you in its operation so that you can shut off the gas to the pizza oven.
36. Never remove the grounding prong from the plug or use this product with an un-grounded,
2-prong adapter.
37. For personal safety, wear proper apparel while using Pizza Oven.
38. This appliance is not intended for and should never be used as a heater.
39. This appliance will be hot during and after use. Use insulated oven mitts or gloves for protection
from hot surfaces or splatter from cooking liquids.
