• If necessary to fully seat your aligners and retainers, insert a
Chewies™ Tray Seater into your mouth and position it between
your upper and lower arches.
• Gently bite down on the Chewies™ Tray Seater and work your
aligner or retainer into place until fully seated.
• When not using Chewies™, do not bite your aligners or retainers
into position as this may damage them.
• Minor discrepancies between the new aligner and the current
tooth position are normal since the teeth need time to conform
to the new aligner position. If you experience sharp pain or
significant discomfort, remove the aligners and contact your
doctor immediately. For retainers, if you experience sharp pain
or significant discomfort, remove the retainer and contact your
doctor immediately.
Removing Your Aligners and Retainers
• Remove your aligners and retainers when eating all snacks and
meals, and when drinking all liquids except for cool water.
• For removal, on one side of your
mouth, use your fingertip on the
inside of your back molar and
slowly pull the aligner or retainer
from your molars.
• Repeat this process on the other
side of your mouth before trying
to remove the aligner or retainer
completely.
• If resistance is felt, it may be
necessary to repeat the previous
steps in several locations along
your arch. Do not bend, twist or
use excessive force to remove
your aligner or retainer as this may
damage it.
• Once the aligner or retainer is
disengaged from the molars on
both sides of your mouth, you
should be able to work your way
slowly forward, gently prying the
aligner or retainer away from your
teeth with your fingertips.
Remember!
• Be careful when removing your
aligners, especially if there are multiple attachments.
• DO NOT use sharp objects to remove your aligners or retainers.
• Consult with your doctor if your aligners or retainers are
extremely difficult to remove.
• To help prevent damage to your aligners or retainers, avoid
unnecessary removal.

Storing and Changing Your Aligners and Retainers
• To help protect your aligners and retainers from loss or
damage, store them in a case when they are not in your mouth.
• When it is time for your next aligner stage, clean and place the
aligners that you have just finished wearing in a safe location.
• If your "current stage" aligner is lost or broken, your doctor
may recommend that you temporarily use your previous
aligners while a replacement for the "current stage" is made.
• Do not store aligners and retainers near a heat source. This may
cause them to distort, resulting in improper fit in your mouth.
Oral Hygiene
During treatment it is important to maintain good oral hygiene.
• Trapping food in your aligners and retainers during treatment
can lead to tooth decay.
• You should brush and floss your teeth before inserting your
aligners or retainers.
• We recommend regular dental checkups and cleaning for the
continued health of your teeth and gums.

Safe Disposal

Used aligners and retainers may be discarded in regular household
trash, as you would a toothbrush or used dental floss.
If you have additional questions after reading these
directions, please consult your doctor.
