Safety information
– Before using this product, carefully read these instructions
for use and those of the associated products. Also ensure
that the end user reads the instructions for use before
using the product.
– Strictly follow the instructions for use. The user must fully
understand and strictly observe the instructions. Use the
product only for the purposes specified in the intended use
section of this document.
– Do not dispose of the instructions for use. Ensure that they
are stored and used appropriately by the user.
– Only trained and competent users are permitted to use
this product.
– Only trained and competent personnel are permitted to
inspect, repair and service the product. Dräger
recommends a Dräger service contract for all
maintenance activities and that all repairs are carried out
by Dräger.
– Do not use a faulty or incomplete product. Do not modify
the product.
– Notify Dräger in the event of any component fault or
failure.
– Use only genuine Dräger spare parts and accessories.
Otherwise, the proper functioning of the product may be
impaired.
Most performance properties of the element (helmet) cannot
be tested by the user in the field.
These instructions for use can be downloaded in other
languages from the Technical Documentation Database
(www.draeger.com/ifu) in electronic form or obtained as a
printed copy from Dräger.

The following warning notices are used in this document to
alert the user to potential hazards. The meanings of the
warning notices are defined as follows:

Feature description
The fire helmets from the Dräger HPS SafeGuard series have
a coated helmet shell made from glass-fiber reinforced,
thermoplastic material and feature the following properties:
– Age-resistant
– Resistant to sunlight (UV radiation)
– Resistant to harmful effects of the weather, chemicals, and
heat
The fire helmets always come with a face-guard.
The internal helmet components include a cushioning system,
harness, size adjustment system, and carrying system. These
components can be used to adjust the size and shape of the
helmet to the wearer's head.
3.3
Intended use
The fire helmets are only intended for the following
operations:
– Structural firefighting
– Search and rescue missions
– Tasks associated with traffic accidents
