Seeventil zudrehen im Falle von
Startschwierigkeiten
Wenn aus besonderem Grunde der Ge-
nerator-Motor nach dem Start nicht
sofort anspringt, und weitere Startver-
suche erforderlich sind (z.B. zum Ent-
lüften der Kraftstoffleitungen usw.) muß
während der Zeit unbedingt das See-
ventil geschlossen werden.
Während des Startvorganges dreht sich die
Kühlwasser-Impellerpumpe mit und fördert
Kühlwasser. Solange der Motor nicht ange-
sprungen ist, reicht der Abgasdruck nicht aus,
um das eingebrachte Kühlwasser wegzu-
befördern. Durch diesen länger andauernden
Startvorgang würde sich
das Kühlwasser-
und Auspuffsystem mit Kühlwasser füllen und
nach einer gewissen Zeit würde zwangsläu-
fig der Kühlwasserstand (Seewasser) das
Auslassventil erreichen. Das würde zur Zer-
störung des Motors führen.

Intheeventofstartingproblems,closethe
sea water inlet cock.
Should there be any reason to turn the
engine (over) or start the engine i.e. to
bleed the fuel system, the sea water inlet
cock must be closed!
During the starting process, the cooling water
pump is driven with the motor. The cooling
water is discharged to the exhaust outlet and,
since the motor has not run, the exhaust
pressure is not high enough to expel the sea
water which has been brought to the exhaust
outlet. To avoid filling the exhaust outlet with
water and causing further problems, close the
inlet sea water valve. Once the engine is
running, be sure to open the inlet valve!

"Starting Problems" in this manual.
Fermer la soupape d'eau de mer en
cas de difficultés de démarrage
Quand, pour des raisons particulières,
le moteur du générateur ne tourne pas
immédiatement après le démarrage et
que d'autres tentatives de démarrage
s'avèrent nécessaires (par ex. pour
purger les conduites de carburant etc.),
il est indispensable que la soupape d'eau
de mer soit fermée pendant ce temps.
Pendant la durée du démarrage, la pompe à
turbine est entraînée et fait circuler l'eau de
refroidissement. Tant que le moteur n'est pas
lancé, la pression des gaz brûlés ne suffit pas
pour refouler l'eau de refroissement amenée.
En cas de démarrage prolongé, le système de
refroidissement et d'échappement se remplit
d'eau (de mer) dont le niveau atteint
inévitablement la soupape d'échappement et
provoque la destruction du moteur.
