11 RECYCLING AND END OF PRODUCT LIFE
At the end of the service life of the equipment or its parts,
the relevant materials and parts should be recycled or
disposed of using an environmentally acceptable method
and in compliance with local regulations. If the pump
contains substances that are harmful to the environment, these should
be removed from the pump and disposed of in compliance with current
local regulations. This also applies to liquids and/or gases that may be
used in auxiliary sealing systems.
Even when dismantled from the process line the pump may
contain a part of pumped fluid. Make sure that dangerous liquids
have been eliminated. Security requirements available in the fluid safety
datasheets should be respected. Suitable personnel protective
equipment should be used when dismantling the pump.
