CHANGING THE FUSES
Carefully read page 51 (MAINTENANCE)
Do not repair faulty fuses.
Never use a fuse of a rating other than
specified.
This could damage the electric system
or cause a short circuit, with the risk of
fire.
NOTE
When a fuse fitted in a particular
position keeps blowing frequently, there
might be a short circuit or overloading. In
this case, contact an aprilia Authorized
Dealer.
Checking the fuses is recommended
whenever an electric component fails to
operate or is malfunctioning, or when the
engine does not start.
Check the 7.5 A and the 15 A fuses first
and then the 20A fuse.
Check as follows:
Remove the front cover, see page 61

Extract all fuses one by one and check
u
f o r b l o w n f u s e s . A b l o w n f u s e i s
identified by the filament (1) in the center
being broken.
Before replacing a fuse, identify the
u
cause of the failure if possible.
Replace the blown fuse with a new one
u
with equal current rating.
NOTE
When you use one of the spare
fuses, remember to add a new spare fuse
into the proper seat.

From the ignition switch to ignition.
– 15A Fuse (3)
From the ignition switch to all light loads
and horn.
– 20A Fuse (4)
From the battery to ignition switch, voltage
regulator, electric fan.
