Apply a filter oil on the whole surface of

Check if there are residues in the lower

part of the drain hose (6).
NOTE
If there are residues coming from
the air box, remove them by proceeding as
follows:
Remove the plug (7).

Drain the contents into a container and

deliver it to a waste disposal center.

CHECKING THE BRAKE PADS FOR
WEAR
Carefully read page 37 (BRAKE FLUID -
Recommendations), (DISK BRAKES)
and page 51 (MAINTENANCE).
NOTE
The following instructions apply
to both braking systems.
Check the brake pads for wear after the
first 625 mi (1000 km) and then every 1250
mi (2000 km). The rate at which brake
pads will wear depends on vehicle usage,
riding style and road surface condition.
Inspect the brake pads before each ride.

Outlined below is a quick brake pad
inspection procedure:
Position the vehicle on the center stand.
u
Visually inspect the area between brake
u
disk and brake pads.
Use a flashlight and a mirror, proceed as
follows:
FRONT BRAKE CALIPER
– From below, on the front part, for the left
pad (A);
– from above, on the front part, for the right
pad (B).
REAR BRAKE CALIPER
– From above, on the rear part, for both pads
(C).
