e) Installing the drive battery in the vehicle
Attention!
The drive battery may not be connected to the speed controller. Run first the transmitter; see Chapter 9. c)
and 9. d).
Important!
This vehicle is only suitable for a 2-cell LiPo drive battery (nominal voltage 7.4 V) or a 6-cell NiMH drive
battery (nominal voltage 7.2 V).
Using vehicle batteries with more cells poses a risk of fire due to overheating of the speed controller; moreo-
ver, the vehicle's drive is overloaded and can thereby get damaged (e.g. the differential). Loss of guarantee/
warranty!
Remove the bracket (A) of the battery holder, by pulling
out the two securing clips (B), and then pull the bracket
upwards.
Now insert the drive battery so that the connection cable of
the battery is points backwards. Otherwise, the connection
cable could impede the function of the steering.
Replace the bracket of the battery holder and fix it with the
securing clips that were removed at the beginning.
f) Connecting the drive battery to the speed controller
First, turn off the speed controller. For this, the on/off
switch (see arrow in image on the right) has to be set to
the „OFF" position.
Then run the transmitter; see Chapter 9. c) and 9. d).
Remember, set the trimming for the steering and driving
function respectively to the middle position.
Place the model vehicle on a suitable surface (or a starting box), so that the wheels can rotate freely in the
event of a fault in order to prevent an abrupt start of the wheels and thus an uncontrolled driving off of the
model (for example, if the trimming has been adjusted for the drive),
Do not reach into the drive. Do not hold the wheels firmly.
Connect only now the drive battery to the speed controller. During this operation, pay attention to the correct polarity
(red cable = plus/+, black cable = minus/-). Do not apply any force when you connect the battery plug to the speed
controller's connection.
Make sure that the cable cannot get into the vehicle's drive or in the steering mechanism. If necessary, use cable
binders to fix the cable.
