9. Operation

a) Removing the body
Pull out the locking clips on the top of the vehicle and lift off the body.
b) Inserting batteries/rechargeable batteries into the transmitter
Open the battery compartment on the transmitter and insert batteries or fully charged rechargeable batteries. Ensure
that the batteries are inserted with the correct polarity (observe the positive/+ and negative/- markings). Close the
battery compartment again. For reasons of operational safety and service life, we recommend using batteries.
Read the remote control operating instructions included with the product.
c) Configuring the transmitter
Switch on the transmitter and set the steering and throttle trim to the central position.
If the transmitter has a dual rate feature, disable it or adjust it so that the steering angle is not limited.
Read the remote control operating instructions included with the product.
d) Inserting the two drive batteries into the vehicle
Caution!
Do not connect the drive batteries to the speed controller yet. Firstly, power up the transmitter as described
in section 9. b) and 9. c).
Important!
This vehicle can only be operated with two identical LiPo drive batteries with 2 cells each (nominal voltage
7.4 V). Both rechargeable batteries must be fully charged.
Drive batteries with more cells may cause a risk of fire due to speed controller overheating, which may
result in the vehicle drive (e.g. differential) being overloaded and eventually damaged. This will void the
warranty!
Using LiPo drive batteries with different charge levels may lead to deep discharge of one of them (the one
with a lower charge level) and thus permanently damage it. In addition, there is a risk of fire and explosion
due to deep discharge.
Check whether the rechargeable battery has a suitable connector system for the speed controller and that
the polarity is correct (red cable = positive/+, black cable = negative/-).
Using drive batteries with a higher capacity increases the running time. Drive batteries with a higher dis-
charge rate usually have a higher output voltage when loaded. This gives the motor more power and results
in better acceleration and a higher speed.
