Patient System Handbook
SLEEP MODE. A time-out period when the Remote Control is not being used. Also known as idle mode.
SPINAL CORD STIMULATION (SCS). A method of applying electrical pulses to the spinal cord to block/mask pain signals to the
brain.
STIMULATION. When used as a therapy for pain, an artificially applied, low-level, pulsating electrical "shock" felt as a tingling or
pulsating sensation in the area of pain and perceived enough to reduce the awareness of pain.
STIMULATION COVERAGE. Area on the body where stimulation occurs. (See Area.)
STIMULATOR. Small implantable electrical pulse generator used to control stimulation.
SUBCLAVICULAR. Under the collarbone.
SYSTEM FAILURE. Inability of SCS or PNS system to deliver stimulation therapy.
WARNING. Potential hazards that you must be aware of to avoid serious situations that may cause injury or death.
