11. TYRE CHANGER EMERGENCY CLOSING

The tyre changer is equipped with an emergency system that allows closing it in case of malfunction of the electro-
hydraulic control unit or of the generator unit.
Emergency closing operations require the intervention of just one person.
In case of generator unit malfunction, the tyre changer can be connected
to a nearby power socket. Should this not be possible, follow the
instructions below.
Hydraulic control unit is equipped with a manual pump (A). This
pump, activated by a lever, can move each hydraulic cylinder.
Each solenoid valve is equipped with a handwheel (B). Each one
of them can activate a solenoid valve and channel oil into the
desired cylinder in order to close it.
Bypass valve (C ) deviates oil from the tank to the solenoid valves.
Solenoid valve / hydraulic cylinder connection:
1. Machine Opening/Closing
2. Turntable
3. Spindle carriage
4. Tool carriage
In case of emergency, close the tyre changer:
1. Screw the knob of the Bypass valve (C ).
2. Close the turntable cylinder. Screw the knob of valve 2.
3. Close the tool carriage cylinder. Screw the knob of
valve 4.
4. Close the Spindle carriage cylinder. Screw the knob of
valve 3.
5. Close the machine by operating the knob of valve 1.
WARNING: During each cylinder closing phase, pay attention to any potential interferences.
