Safety Instructions for the Operator
1. Electrical equipment may only be installed and serviced by qualified personnel. The re-
spective applicable local safety instructions and installation regulations must be com-
plied with. The term qualified personnel is defined in the standards VDE 0105 and IEC
364. Information for non-qualified personnel is not contained in this operating manual.
We expressly state that the EU stipulations prohibit the employment of non-qualified
personnel on electrical systems.
2. The specifications on the rating plate and the electrical connection conditions must cor-
respond.
3. The counter-current unit may only be taken into operation if a residual current operated
circuit breaker is fitted.
4. No conductive connection may exist between metal parts of the motor and water.
5. If the counter-current unit is installed in a pump pit, this must be provided with sufficient
ventilation (motor cooling) and an adequate drain outlet for leakage water (DN 40 mi-

6. Prior to performing any repair work on the unit, always disconnect it from the electrical
power source and secure against unauthorised reconnection.
7. Repair work, irrespective of its nature, may only be performed by qualified technicians
and the counter-current unit drained previously.
8. The operator must ensure that
- the operating manual is always available to operating personnel,
- the instructions contained in the manual are always observed,
- the counter-current unit is always taken out of operation immediately in the event
of anormal electrical voltage levels, temperatures, noises, vibration, leakage or
other faults.
