Data Transfer to a PC with Hürner DataWork
Hürner's welding data management application DataWork können allows
downloading welding reports from a welding unit directly into the database
on a PC. To do so, connect a USB cable from the PC to the USB B inter-
face at the back of the welding unit. The launch the database application
Hürner DataWork and, in the Transfer menu, select the Welding Unit
--> PC option and in its sub-menu, USB-Port. See the DataWork user's
manual for further information on direct download of welding data to the
DataWork database.
When data transfer is completed, an "OK" button appears on the PC
screen, and the welding unit displays a "Printing finished" message.
8.7
Deleting Data in Memory
The report data in memory can be deleted only if all reporting protocols
were already printed. When printing is finished, a "Printing finished"
message indicates this. When the printer cable is unplugged, a "Delete
Memory" message is displayed. When the START key is pressed here, a
further confirmation message "Delete Memory, sure?" is shown, which
has to be confirmed by pressing the START key once again. Then, the
report data in memory is deleted.
For every data printing or transfer, always be sure to wait until
the display shows the "Printing finished" message before you
disconnect the printer, PC, or USB stick from the unit. If you
Important
disconnect it too early, the welding unit may ask you whether you
want to delete the data in memory, although the reports were
not properly transferred or printed. In this case, if you delete the
contents of the report memory, the welding reports would be
irrevocably lost and would not have been saved elsewhere.
8.8
Not Deleting Data in Memory
When the printer cable is unplugged, a "Delete Memory" message is
displayed. Press the STOP/RESET key to keep the current report data
in memory. They can then be printed off once again.

Available Welding Reports
The number of currently free, available welding reports is displayed by
holding down the key while "Enter Fitting Code" is showing.
9.2
Next Service Due
Pressing and holding down the arrow key causes the unit to display the
date when the next recommended service for the unit should be done.
If the recommended date has passed, a next service due message is
displayed as soon as the unit is plugged into the mains or generator power
supply. This message has to be reacted to by pressing the START key.
9.3
Checking the Scanner/Scanning Pen
The scanner/scanning pen can be checked for proper operation by
reading the test code on the welding unit while "Enter Fitting Code" is
showing. If the scanner/scanning pen works properly, the welding unit
will display "Test Code Correct" on the screen and confirm this by an
audible signal.
