"Additional Data on" means that the additional data will
have to be entered or confirmed before every new weld-
ing, "off" that the user is not prompted to enter them.
"Fitting Code on" means that the second, so-called trace-
ability code of the pipeline fitting that is going to be
worked has to be entered before every welding, "off,"
that this is not possible.
"Pipe Codes on" means that the codes of both pipes/compo-
nents (ISO-compliant welding and treaceability codes)
have to be entered before every welding, "off," that
this is not possible.
"Pipe Length on" means that the length of both pipes/com-
ponents has to be entered before every welding, "off,"
that this is not possible.
"Weather Conditions on" means that the weather has to be
selected in a list before every welding, "off," that this
is not possible.
"Geo-data on" means that the geographic coodinates have
to be recorded after every welding (see Sect. 4.4 for de-
tails), "off," that this is not possible.
"Installing Company on" means that the company that per-
forms the installation work has to be entered before ev-
ery welding, "off," that this is not possible.
"HCD on" (short for "half cooling time displayed") means
that for a welding operation in the workshop with the
cooling time reduced to 50 % of its statutory duration
by pressing the START/SET key, the indication "-HC-" will
be included in the report (refer to Sect. 4.3.8), "off,"
that nothing will show up in the report even when the
cooling time was halved.
"Print Tags – M – " means that by pressing the MENU key,
the user can access a sub-menu for starting to print (a)
label(s) with reference to a given welding operation, us-
ing the optional label tag printer.
All data that are available in the chip of a transpon-
der card can be entered by placing the card in front
of the RFID reader. If they are encoded in a bar code,

they can be read using a handheld scanner.
4.2

Entering Preformatted and User-defined Traceability Data

All traceability data enabled in the configuration menu at
"Recording" (see Sect. 4.1.6) have to be entered before the
welding process. The welding system prompts the user to
enter them before the welding process proper. Depending
on what data is entered, either its repeated input is man-
datory (e. g., the welder ID code; see Sect. 4.2.1) or previ-
ously entered data can be changed and confirmed or con-
firmed without changes (e. g., the commission number; see
Sect. 4.2.2).
